I regret to inform you that I am compelled to cancel, once again, the highly anticipated NYSD Track and Field Meeting scheduled for Tuesday the 26th of this month at Shildon. This decision has been made due to critical safety issues that cannot be overlooked.

Despite diligent efforts, I am facing significant challenges in assembling a competent team to ensure the smooth execution of the event. Unfortunately, I have been unable to secure a results team and a qualified track judge. Moreover, we are experiencing a shortage of field officials, whose presence is essential for the safe conduct of the meeting. As per the permit issued by UK Athletics (UKA), it is impermissible to proceed with the event without these indispensable individuals.

Considering the potential risks associated with the absence of key personnel, our organization would be held liable for any safety incidents that may occur. In the interest of public safety and to avoid any legal ramifications, I am left with no choice but to cancel the event.

This unfortunate situation raises serious concerns that demand the immediate attention of the NYSD. It is imperative that a thorough examination be conducted to identify the root causes of these recurring issues. By addressing the underlying problems, we can ensure the future success and continuity of our track and field meetings.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to participants. I remain committed to organizing safe and well-executed events that uphold the highest standards of professionalism. Rest assured, I will spare no effort in rectifying the current challenges and delivering an outstanding track and field experience in the future.
